The marker holder is 3D printed using ABS plastic. This plastic is known for its toughness and impact resistance, and it is often used for creating lightweight parts.
What 3D Printers are you using to make the XR Marker Parker™?
We are currently using Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 3D printers to manufacture the XR Marker Parker™. Bambu Lab's 3D printers are known for their incredible quality, accuracy, and speed. We have also used a FLASHFORGE Guider II 3D printer for prototyping.
How can I clean my XR Marker Parker™?
Since they are readily available and convenient in a hospital setting, we recommend cleaning the holder with a Sani-Cloth® or CaviWipe™. The marker holder can also be cleaned with soap and water. For a deeper cleaning, we recommend disassembling the holder and washing the individual parts.
My markers don't fit in the XR Marker Parker™. What can I do?
Since all x-ray markers are made differently, we might not have the correct tensioners and spacers for your markers. Unfortunately, due to manufacturing costs, we are unable to produce holders specific to your markers. However, we always appreciate it when technologists send us their marker dimensions. That way, we can continue to design and improve the holder to work with even more markers. Before purchasing, please refer to the "Instructions" page to see which markers are confirmed to work with the current model.
My markers are just a little too tight, and I'm struggling to push the markers out of the holder. What can I do?
If your markers are a little too tight, you can actually use a nail file and file down the tensioner a bit. Be careful not to file too much material from the ends of the tensioners.
The XR Marker Parker™ is weighing my badge down. What can I do?
The marker holder is only a few ounces, and it shouldn't weigh down your badge reel too much. It is likely that your badge reel is worn or of poor quality. We recommend using a badge reel with strong retraction so that it can support the extra weight of the marker holder. Many of our users prefer to attach the marker holder to a badge reel that is separate from their ID badge.
My markers used to stay secure in the XR Marker Parker™, but now they don't. What happened?
It is possible that there is a "snag" within the tension mechanism that isn't allowing the tension to reset. There could also be debris within the tension mechanism - specifically where the mechanism protrudes out into the sliding channel. We would recommend disassembling the holder and re-seating the tensioners. The holder could also be damaged from misuse or damage. Please inspect the casing for damage.
Can I order replacement parts?
If one of the parts is damaged (depending on what is broken), we may be able to send you replacement parts. Please go to our "contact page" and let us know what you need.
Is the XR Marker Parker™ MRI safe?
There are a lot of multi-modality techs that take their markers everywhere they go. Since the screws that connect the two pieces are made out of steel (and your markers are made with lead), we DO NOT recommend taking the marker holder into MRI Zone(s) III or IV.
